About Me

I was born on February 18, 1968 in Kerala state of India. I was the second of four children. My father worked as a merchant and my mother did a wonderful job raising four children. They were excellent role models and created a happy nurturing home for me and my siblings.
In my early years I attended Elementary School in my village. I remember the experience to be a happy one. However, nothing was as memorable as Onam holidays. My Grandma would come and visit, and we'd have a real holiday time with her.

The feeling of pride and patriotism made a huge impact on me. I was too young to understand politics...but I knew that I was grateful for our freedom. I have joined sea scout with my elder brother when I was in primary five. My brother discontinued in less than six months.

In high School I played for our football team and arts club. I wanted to study cinematography, but my parents could not afford it. I had never thought of serving in the military prior to that point, but the more I thought about it, the more the prospect of military service intrigued me. I could serve my country, learn valuable skills, and earn money for my parents. So, I signed up. What I didn't realize is that after spending two years in the Navy, I was learning more than I would in college. I was working with gun and electrical devices. The Navy felt like home to me. The bond I felt with my fellow sailors was solid.

I married my village sweetheart, Letha, seven years after entering the Navy. She was, and is, very supportive of my career. I could not serve my country, like I did, without her by my side. We now have two wonderful children: Kaveri and Kalyani.

I have discontinued my career in uniform after fifteen years in the Navy.  But I still enjoy as a Naval Trainer and share my knowledge and experience to younger men and women in the Republic of Singapore Navy.

I love Navy and my navy friends.
Cheers !.
